Yangzhou Boheng New Energy New Materials Industrial Park has achieved a significant technological breakthrough with the successful commissioning of the world’s first biaxially-oriented production line for ultra-thin reinforced metallizable films used in new energy applications. This advanced production line, developed through collaboration between Yangzhou Boheng Technology and Germany’s Bruckner Company, specializes in manufacturing ultra-thin functional films ranging from 1.2-6um thickness for lithium battery components – a critical material previously dominated by foreign suppliers.
The newly operational facility represents a strategic advancement in China’s new energy materials sector, particularly for electric vehicle applications. The production line’s innovative two-way stretching technology enables manufacture of specialized films that meet stringent performance requirements for next-generation battery applications, effectively breaking long-standing international technical barriers in this high-value segment.
According to corporate plans, the full-scale development of 36 production lines at the Yangzhou complex promises substantial economic impact, with projected annual output value reaching 12 billion yuan and tax contributions of 3.3 billion yuan upon completion. The initial phase involving four production lines represents a 2 billion yuan investment, with full production capacity expected by 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening China’s domestic supply chain for advanced lithium battery materials.
