U.S. and Chinese officials said Monday they had reached an agreement to roll back most recently imposed tariffs within 90 days and continue talks to resolve their trade dispute.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the United States agreed to reduce its 145% tariff on Chinese goods by 115 percentage points to 30%, and China agreed to reduce its tariffs on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10%.
Greer and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant announced the tariff reductions at a news conference in Geneva.
They said the two sides have scheduled consultations to continue discussing trade issues.
